Any gun owners happen to have any luck tracking down any 9mm ammo at reasonable prices lately? Went to the gun show this weekend and there wasn't shit there by the time I got there unless you wanted to pay more than you should be for crap loads.

I was able to pick up a couple of boxes from Cabelas a few weeks ago.

That's a little too far out of my way. I'll probably stop by bass pro shop in a couple hours and hope to hell that they have a box or two.
Six boxes came into Wal Mart Saturday and one guy got them all.
The shelf has been empty for months!

Good luck getting primers. I mean hell, it's a lot easier to run into factory loaded rounds than it is to find the primers for reloading.

This is true, Dillonprecision has been on backorder for a while now.
Maybe it's all going to the war effort???
It's hard to find these days
picked up 8 boxes in cali this past weekend from walmart
25.99 + tax
quick way to drop 230 bucks on ammo you dont even own a gun for (friend does though).

Well when I was at Bass Pro Shop today they had probably a little over 1000 rounds on the shelf of 9mm. I didn't buy any as I wasn't going to pay 34 bucks for a box of 50. I have no need for +P rounds as it's not necessarily what I'd consider a target round. I'm looking for 110-125 grain rounds, not the 147's that they had on sale. I'll just keep scouting Walmarts and buy them in small quantities until either prices come down or I can get my hands on some small pistol primers. :hyper:
I'm so glad I stocked up last year!
If you see it, buy it!
34 bucks a box? geez and i though 26 was a lot lol

Yeah... about pissed my pants when I saw that.
The second amendment says nothing about the right to keep amo! Next time someone breaks into your home, throw your wepon at them! Think about it...

Can someone answer me as to why these are so popular and important? Just curious.....

Why's what so popular/important? Finding the ammo or why it's in short supply.

Well it's a PITA to find for those who actually want to go and shoot it as manufacturers have not been able to keep up with the demand for ammunition (Primers especially so). This was spurred by the election of Obama people put their tin foil hats on and started buying up supplies due to fears of increased gun control.
Now when the ammo shipments hit the shelves, people snatch up large quantities, which only continues the problem. Thankfully catching stuff on the shelves is getting easier. Hell, I only want a couple boxes for target shooting as I don't care to sit on a ton of ammo.
I know this is not the place to talk about gun control. So I'll let it be!

Picked up six 50 round boxes of Federal Champion for 8.97 a box at walmart :woot1:
They had almost 3000 rounds of 9mm and about 2500 .40 S&W in stock. Was glad to see some on the shelves.

Hell yeah. Cleaned the gun and lubed the M&P 9mm to S&W's specs and I'm down. Now only if the rest of the morning would have went so well.

Which Wal Mart?

Which Wal Mart?
Baseline and Stapley
I got there before they opened their gun counter at 7. Showed up at 6 where I happened to run into a guy who buys a ton of ammo from Wal Mart and says the best time to get stuff is to show up around 6 as it gets stocked at night and the counter is closed throughout the night. Ask for the CSM as they are the only one in the store who can open the counter before 7. Apparently they have ammunition coming in on several trucks a week, you just have to get there in time. There is a six box limit for those who don't know.

One handed may be more fun, but whoever is in that vid definitely should stick w/ two; or just put the thing down all together...didn't hit shyt from 12 feet away (all left of the head cuz of the anticipation in his hand). Watch the first trigger squeeze. LMAO Some dry fire might help that fella out.

all to the left of the head?

after

the ones at the head were 15 feet, and the ones in the center were 2 handed from 45 feet.
FYI my vision is 20/620, so at 45 feet its like someone else looking at something over 1200 feet away. 6 inch spread aint bad if you ask me, sure as hell good enough to put a bunch of holes in someone breaking into my house (large caliber holes at that)
I didn't even know that was you shooting the gun. Who knows...that first empty chambered trigger pull was all i needed to see, because that's not what a trigger squeeze looks like when the rounds are being put where they're intended. lol Nice group though on the posted pic.
my trigger squeezing is horrible, and ill be the first to admit it. you dont even want to know where im aiming to get them to go towards the target LOL. probably aiming somewhere just left of the right shoulder (well stage right).
the only time i can control my trigger squeezing is on rifles, on handguns ive never really tried (im new to shooting handguns, just in the last 6 months or so)
Take your time! Go often! I have two, each is different!
Here's one at 25 yards, got lazy...
