I have a 06 Mustang GT and in the past 2-3 weeks my gas pedal has started to stick to the floor/full open when I stomp on it. This has happened 5-6 times now and last night, it did not want to release with several attempts with the side of my foot; thank God no one was in front of me as I was picking up speed fast and the brakes were not holding her back all that much. This happended to my neighbor's 06 GT as well several times and she had a stick; the dealership said they could not dupilcate it or find any problems. She sold her car to prevent an accident or death do to this. I checked the carpet and mat area around the pedal and found no evidence that this was the cause. I stomped on the pedal 50-100 with the engine off to see if it would stick or bind and found it worked smoothly. Is this happening to anyon else? Any idea what mighty be the cause?

Is the carpet catching the linkage?

Carpet does not interfere at all, do not see anything that can even come close. Starting to wonder as there is the black electronic box connected to the top of the pedal that maybe something electrical is the cause. With motor running and power to the car it happens, with car off there is nothing that sticks, binds, catches etc...

Do you know how to recalibrate the throttle body?? With Key on, not running, key on wait for all to set and then slowly push the gas pedal to the floor. You should hear the clicking of the CPU as it re sets.

considering newer stangs 05+ are fly by wire and don't even have a throttle cable.... your probably right.

Did the throttle body recal, will see how it work's. Still some what stumped as to how power, the throttle body and or CPU could physically hold the gas pedal to the floor and not allow it to spring back; if this is the no shit reason(s), think Ford Motor needs to do a safety recall and make some changes real quick.

Hey Rick
Gimme a call at the shop. I have a bunch of questions to ask ya and it would take a bunch of back and fourth on the forum.
Be VERY careful!!! You have a SERIOUS problem. Don't take it lightly!
