$5,500? I ran my first 10.XX for about 3/4 of that, I'm sure you don't want to put a big block on spray in that '98 though :)

Have to remember if you spend the money on a hellion kit for your car your also getting a complete front suspension. Just something to keep in mind so really its not as huge of a difference

Just go with a nice centrifugal charger with 12 psi.... vortech or pro-charge ......

I'm guessing stock shortblock? How many miles? Any HP goals?

That's his best bet. Make it a intercooled ProCharger, but not 12psi on a stock 98 engine.

With a safe tune??? No 12 psi ???

Put down 490 ish to the wheels...... Should be enough....

Well that's a horse of a different color. lol. Considering it's a pretty stout motor I'd say step up to a D1SC (go 8-rib & 3 core IC) and that should easily get you where you want to be, as well as leave room for more power in the future. You could always go the turbo route too... :pepper: It really just depends on where you want to draw the line. Personally, I had a Procharger and am now in the process of going turbo (very common transition). Your budget should be plenty to do either, especially if you install it yourself. Just my $.02
