I run stock cobra front brakes with a 1" baer slip on spacer with Centerline Convo Pro wheels. The centerlines are not as thick of a rim in the area where the studs pass thru so everything is legal.

1 inch spacer and a grinder............

On a weld wheel the studs will not protrude into the lugs far enough to be NHRA legal with a 1" spacer.

You still have to run a spacer with GT brakes. GT PBR calipers are nearly the same size as Cobra PBR's.

Depends on what length front studs are used. I ran 3.5" ARP's and they were legal, the studs made it right to the end of the lugnut with a Prostar and 1" spacer.

Not legal. The first 1/2" of the stud is not threaded. It may have looked legal, but a 1" spacer with a pro star does not engage the threaded portion of the lug as depicted in the diagram above.

GT brakes allow you to use a smaller spacer.

Wheel GT brakes you need a 7/16's spacer to fit. Remember the spacers must be hubcentric. Those mr. Gasket spacers tech do not pass tech

It is only ones personal safety and possible their life that is at risk by doing things in a half ass manner. Legal and safe is the only way I operate.

I have Weld Draglites and I use a 3/4 spacer and Moroso studs that have threads all the way to the end of the stud. The studs come flush to the end of the lug nuts. Both legal and safe. I did have to grind a tad on the caliper. For some reason I put on a set of Prostars and they fit without grinding.

Hub centric are best though.

Hub centric are best though.

Maybe on a street wheel, but they do absolutely nothing for a Pro Star which is a Lug Centric Wheel.

Not sure if you have solid axle or IRS. Also all the calipers are the same (Cobra/GT/Mach1/V6).

For a solid axle, use GT axle brackets and use GT rotors. 6.5" backspace on a 15x10 wheel.

For an IRS, the brakes are not the limiting factor, it is the tierod. If you want to use 15" rear wheels bust out the die grinder and go to work until they fit.

This has bugged me for awhile and I wanted to know if there's a safety issue with grinding down the tierod? I understand alittle grinding but the pic I saw on another site looked like you have to grind it pretty close to the bolt mount hole. Figured you'd lose some structural integrity there. Has anyone done this and have input on it?

You can used 16" diamond racing wheels with 16" slicks.
