Yes, he had the brace on as we installed that almost a year ago. I will say that brace didn't do SHITT or at least so it seems. There are cracks all over the damned diff cover. We've pulled the exhaust, the brace, and all bolts the diff cover off the car so far. We called it a day and will see if there is any other damage done sometime tomorrow.
At least it happened right near his place as we were both going to go down to Speedworld tomorrow, but it looks him and I won't be making it out.

well it ended up only being the cover itself. almost split the damn thing in half! so an easy fix and ill be hitting the track really soon.

Thats good news. What IRS brace did you have?

Any of the Ford dealers should be able to get one within one day. I think they were 70 bucks if I remember correctly

i have the billetflow brace. only 70 bucks?? ive only seen the stock one for 210 but LPW has an aftermarket one for 10 dollars more so i dont know if it will really be worth it.

Oh yeah that was at cost. My bad. Id go with the aftermarket one if I were you.
I thought the billet flow was supposed to be the shizzle...?

Billet flow is a great IRS brace.

01-12-09, 05:31 PM
haha yeah it did! i was bummed that i wasnt able to make it.
i ended up ordering a cover through LPW and when i talked to them today they claimed that i wouldnt even need to brace anymore. he actually laughed about it. so we will see what happens. its going to be here friday.
berge wanted 308 bucks for a stock one! LPW was only 220.

Looks like it should hold up much better than the stock piece.

thanks for posting that andy. it looks like it will do the job. if the brace still fits on the new one ill probably just put it on to be on the safe side

We will find out on Friday I suppose. i don't think it will fit after looking at the picture. You know what that means? We are gonna have to go source bolts for your diff cover. Did you find out what material it was made out of? Steel rather than cast aluminum I take it?
Oh yeah, update your avatar pic fool!
04WhininCobra
01-12-09, 06:13 PM
crap i totally forgot about that! maybe it will come with new bolts. yeah i know i need to update it. we were supposed to have some awesome pictures to post up, but that didnt happen!

I doubt they will include new bolts...It shouldn't be that hard to source some nice grade 8 bolts. We'll get it covered.
