What do you mean you don't have posi?
Your car has a limited slip differential.
Do both rear tires spin together?
If not the clutches in the rear are fried.

The Clutches in the differential are fried and will need replaced then you will have a double wheel peel. :hyper:
If you are a daily driver a 3:73 gear is a good balance between additional performance and driveabilty on a 5 speed.

I dont think you will be happy with 4.10's since it is your daily driver. WOuld be fun but Id go 3.90 or 3.73s. Leaning towards the 3.73s:pinkthumb:

Motive 3.90's tend to whine.

You are 100% correct on the subject......

trac loc = Ford

with 4.10s at 75mph you'd be looking at about 2500rpms and at 65. I bet once you put the 3.73's in and then jump into a car with 4.10s your going to hate your choice. Dont fear the gear. I daily drove 4.10s for 2 years traveling 30 miles round trip to work and did another year traveling with 4.30s. Trips to the track were 2 and a half to 4 hours depending which track i went to. I wouldn't recommenced 4.30s unless your serious and know what direction your going with the car. Around town 4.10 also become nice at 45 you can actually throw it into 5th and drive with it that way no issues

Do the 3.90 in the GT. Hell, I run 4.10s in my Mach that's a DD. As the saying goes that I've taken from others, Don't fear the gear. Hell, if I did it again I'd probably even go 4.30s in my car.

I just did 3.73 but have not driven it yet to be able to recommend it to you. If you need a good shop to do the work for you send me a PM. It will be the cheapest around, honest guy and very reputable.

The clutch rebuild kit is cheap under $100.

I happen to have a brand new set of 3.73 gears and a brand new install pack with a the clutches and bearings and what not, never been used just been sitting collecting dust. I can make you a good offer on both if you want them

If you drive on the freeway alot I would go 373. I actually took 373's out of my 99 GT auto and put in 355. I now have an 01 Cobra witch redlines higher and I have 410's and they are almost too low. I would do 373's if I was to do it over. If you do not drive freeways everyday then 410's would be the sh!t.

All GT's have an 8.8 rear end with a trac lok.
If the clutches are fried only the right rear will spin,

Motive 3.90's tend to whine.
+1. mine definetly whine. have since day one. but the gear is perfect for the track, and my car is not my DD. and when i do cruise on the street it gives me a better excuse to crank the tunes or smash the gas harder.
