So after running the mustang out at speedworld for the first time. i came to a stark realazation. i need to do something about the fluid in my T-45. what would you guys suggest be the best thing to put in it? i know the fluid in it is probably the original fluid, so even a stock fluid would probably be better. but i want to go with something synthetic, so it will possibly shift better.
oh, incase you wondered, i ran a 15.1 at 93mph. yea. it was that slow. but i had a blast doing it! and once i can shift better, and hook up a little more, i should be good to go.
I ran Royal Purple in my T56 over the stock fluid. The "glide" of the gears felt better over stock. I also put on an shitty (i.e. worse than stock) aftermarket shifter at the same time.

which shifter did you end up with? i am looking towards getting either a pro 5.0 or a steeda tri-ax...
I have a MGW blue handle. It's notchy as hell and I will probably be going to a 5.0

Have the new orange handle and it is smooth as they come.

You are going to love that Tri-ax, I really like the feel of mine. I switched to synthetic fluids in my T-45 and it made a noticable diference. Also went to a synthetic rear end fluid too, It has a lot less friction which is good. I read a thread somewhere, and the test mule was a 93 Cobra, and after a full synthetic fluid swap ( engine, transmission, and rear end) they " Proclaimed " to pick up a few extra rwhp. I did not feel anything different by switching mine, but it does run a lot smoother now. I used royal purple in the transmission and the rear, and amsoil in the engine. J.

well, i got it put in tonight, and so far, its super notchy, and gives you a really great feeling to the car. its going to be interesting getting use too. i am use to having to guide the car into third, now i just palm it, and it goes right in. need to get more drive time, and i am sure i will fall in love with it.
I'm thinking of switching to a Tri-Ax myself. Dan has a car with ~330 rwhp and a tri-ax in it and I haven't had that much fun shifting since my Cobra was bone stock.
It just leaves black marks all over my hands from the older rubber grip on the shifter:icon_neutral:
