View Full Version : Added a new car to the stable
Last year we sold my wife's 2001 Honda Prelude and have been looking for a car to replace it. In the interim we purchased a 1993 Toyota Camry but, with 128,000 miles the Camry is starting to show its age. We have looked at everything from Toyota Corollas to Ford Five-hundreds and nothing has grabbed my wife's attention like this little car. From the first test I could tell my wife was hooked as the grin from ear to ear could not be hid (notice last pic). I have to admit this is one of the easiest and most fun cars I have ever had the pleasure of driving. Well without further adieu please meet Jacques. Well it's a British car made by Germans so a French name is fitting.

1.6 liter 168hp supercharged engine with air to air cooler. I believe it is the Eaton M45 but may be the 90. Pulley changes look like a PITA but I'll manage.

They are some really nice cars. When I had a BMW there were always a bunch on track with us at events and those little suckers can handle with very little mods.
And people whine about Cobra pulley changes

damn, thats a lot of work, not too mention, no room to work in. lol.
The thing is to plan carefully, what other stuff needs to be done while the engine is out. To be honest the pictures are a little deceitful because the hood opens and with it goes the headlights and front grill. Half the engine is exposed just opening the hood.

Hahaha thats a cool looking car, and nice wheels too!
i didn't even read the steps because i dont wanna waste a half an hour reading on a car i dont own and a job i wont be doing, but i did look at some under the hood pics on ebay and i cant even see the damn pulley... have fun with that!
Took the car up to Greer this past weekend and all I can say what a blast to drive. I am seriously thinking about becoming a two Mini family.
