I am heading down to firebird tomorrow night.

Doesn't look like they have any big events planned this weekend so hopefully I get get some runs in.

Anyone else?

I got my MT Sportsman front tires so I can cruise down there on the slicks and skinnies. 10 gallons of VP 109 in the tank. I am ready to roll.

10 gallons? yikes! stay out of it, and you should not need so much gas! lol...

I was doing some tuning today so I burned some. Tuning on pump gas then running 100% race gas can cause some issues as the stoich ratings between race and pump fuel varies. VP 109 has a stoich of 13.65 and pump gas is 14.64. I have no idea what the winter oxygenated gas stoich rating is, but it burns leaner than the summer gas. I would guess around 14.2 based on my data logs and research.

So long story short. If you tune on summer gas and go to 100% VP 109 your car will run leaner. By changing the stoich rating in the tune to match the race fuel will keep your A/F in check.

My A/F was 12.0-12.3 on the race gas compared to 11.6-11.8 on winter gas with a can of torco.

I'll be there for my first time out since I got back. My boss will be out with his GT 500.

My M/Ts are a couple years old so I am sure they are pretty hard but there is still a lot of tread left on them so I am gonna use them until they wear down.

Would go but I'm not too happy with Firebird at the moment. I want it to be a night where I'm sure there won't be some BS.

if it was sat I'd think about going for the hell of it since I'd be out at central

Went 10.60 tonight.

Went to staging with 10.5 lbs in the tires.

Came back with 7 in the right rear and the dreaded leaking air noise.

Picked up something in my slick.

Sucks it was a nice night and things were running smoothly.

Yeah I had a fuel issue of some sort. Not sure if it was fuel itself or something to do with the car sitting for two years. Could not keep it running.

What kind of tire were you running that hooked? My BFG DRs didn't do me any good on that track. Didn't seem to me that anyone was hooking???

Thanks. I am sure everybody got a good look at it during my painful 3-5 minute pass trying to get it off the track. :poke:

I guess it could have been worse-at least it did not go home on a trailer like my last trip to the track. Still not sure what happened but maybe it was just a dirty fuel filter or something easy.

HAHA. Well atleast we could see that something was obviously wrong (unlike those 18s Ricers.....) Have you checked for the solution yet?
