my moms battery is about shot in her 02 gt. what is a good battery to get? any recommendations? some better for power or some better for duration? idk let me know!!! thanks

i hear the gel batteries are good... but its AZ.... all batteries die quick! *shakes fist at the heat!!! *

+1 for Optima !! If your going to keep the car for a long time (They're pricey). Never had a problem with them. No water, built to take vibration etc..Mount in any position, long warranty.(My 1980 mazda 626 original battery lasted 5 years out here ! it was a PANASONIC !!! I traded the car in ,still with that original battery ! )

OEM. I never had any luck with the Optima red top but their yellow top seems to hold up very well.

After working for a car audio shop that sold optima I would say if you have to go that way then you will need the yellow top. In reality the optima batteries are great on show cars that need good current supply and are not started often and you will be fine with almost any descent battery as they all have short lives here.

I've always had good luck with the stock batteries in each stang I've owned.

I recently bought an Optima for my 07 Yukon Denali and it works much better for tailgating than the stock battery did. I guess if the stocker crapped out in the cobra I'd buy an optima.
