Oscar-worthy Blue Oval Roles (http://www.mustangandfords.com/featuredvehicles/mdmp_080809_ford_automobiles_in_film_and_televisio n)We all know that Steve McQueen tore up the silver screen in a Dark Highland Green '68 Mustang fastback in Bullitt (Warner Bros., 1968). A few of us might even know that the original Batmobile was designed and built by George Barris from a Lincoln concept car called the Futura. Or that the menacing looking vehicle built for the movie The Car (Universal Studios, 1977) started life as a '71 Lincoln Mk III and was also designed and built by Barris. Never the less, Ford has played an important role in film, including TV and movie production from almost the very beginning.
