I am all set as my 03 Cobra drive train is on its way to AZ for my Saleen conversion. The motor is stock and has 21K on it. I'm already thinking some mods for a budget of 3K and wanted to know what your advice is on the performance parts. What do you all think? I was thinking of sending the blower to Steg and getting it ported not sure Stage 4 or 5, a cold air intake and tune. I was even considering headers however I have a new Bassani X pipe with high-flow cats with the stock Saleen manifolds.
The trans has blue clutch in it and appears to be new. Any suggestions on what kind it is based on the color?
Thanks for all the input.
My Spec clutches were blue

If you plan on doing long tubes now is the time, you may want to look into an aftermarket K member depending on your plans. To stay under 3K a port is your best bet, but if you ever want more you will have just thrown a good amount of money away in the port since the Eaton will be maxed at that point. A used twin screw may be something to look into if you can spend a bit more, with the supporting mods a KB/Whipple will be well over your budget.
Items i'd also look into:
The LDC head cooling mod
LDC freeplay kit
Firewall adjuster and quadrant
FLSFC

Thanks for some of the usggestions. I think your friend has a bit more than a pulley to be going low 11's. I have a pully, tune, intercooler, TB and the car is only puting out mid 320's HP at the RW.
I've also heard that this would be the time to put headers in as well.
I had a 98 Camaro SS and it was a nice car as well with the 6 spd.

1. Head cooling mod
2. Heat Exchanger and aftermarket radiator
I'd do both of those no matter what you do, and at a minimum do the head cooling mod to make sure you've got the head cooling issues covered. I'm assuming this is a stock motor so it doesn't have the improved heads correct? Prior to, I'd thourougly check the plugs as well to check for signs of prior abuse/detonation or improper installation.
I know these are all very basic suggestions, but these are items i wish someone would have told me about when i bought my cobra. In the end these few mods can save you some big bucks. After those I'd do the headers since this is as easy as it's gonna get to install them, and ported blower/supporting mods.
So aren't you going to have to do some computer changes as well for this swap?

So aren't you going to have to do some computer changes as well for this swap?
Also, don't you have to do something with the key and matched computer in the trunk so it starts or is that just if you are changing the full harness?

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. With the new drivertrain I am getting a a full body harness as well as the computer. Rob who use to work at SVC is going to let me know which rout he is going as he thnks he can just use my computer and just do the tune but he will determin that when we have everything in from of us. I'm going to stop by his house tomorrow and see what he recommends as well and I will mention these suggestions to him.
I was able to find a KB 2.2 wiht about 8K miles on it for $2K. Is that a good price and would you recommend that over a ported Steg?

stage 5 port, BAP, Heat exchanger, head cooling mod, TB, intake that should do it. I have heard the stage 5 port can put down like 540 on pump gas. check out the add MR. Whipple just posted. lots of stuff for sale.

I say the 2.2 but I am a bit biased. I think there was a guy on here selling the new style 2.2 a while ago, he may have it still.

Really? 540 on pump? That's a lot of power for the Eaton... I think it may be the 5+ you are referring to, but it seems like there hasn't been too many people with feedback that I have seen on the new 5 and 5+. The Stage IV has shown great results.
