Hey folks! My wife and I are thinking of relocating to the Phoenix area so I was trolling around the net looking at the area and stumbled on this site. This is a cool site so I thought I'd pop in and say hey!

Anyway, nice place you have here and maybe see you around soon???

Actually, I will be in town later this week and it is supposed to be 110! Can't wait to feel what that is like. I'll gladly trade 3 months of 100+ for 3 months of ZERO.

It's a trade off for 8 great months!! Thats why we have so many pools and even when its hot we can still drive our Stangs around!!:pinkthumb:

I like the idea of being able to race year round and not having to store your car for 4 months! Having two 1/4 mile dragstrips in a reasonable distance would be the cat's ass, too. Right now everytime I go to the track it involves 4-5 hours of road time.

The heat is not that bad! I moved from NJ where it was 97 and 100% humidity. I can take 115 vs. 100 with humidity!:woot1:

Just got back from Phoenix! Nice place you guys have out there. I didn't melt either. I saw tons of cool Stangs rolling around out there, too.

Anyway, I think we might make the move??? :pinkthumb:

2 quick questions...

Whats the tint law? Everyone had tints but many times the side window were lighter. Is that law or just the way most people do it? Illinois is lame cause you can't really do the sides at all. I need to get mine done.

Where's the 93 octane??? I never saw any. That would suck since my car is tuned for 93.

side windows are supposed to be lighter then the back which can be full limo.

dunno about 93, I have not bumped my timing yet.

I think the "law" on tint is 35% but I am not sure if it enforced here because it is so hot 4 mos out of the year. I have even seen a few cars with a dark tint on the windshield here.

91 octane is max here and in CA and nobody seems to know why.

Ya its 35% for the fronts and you can do limo for the rears. Its illegal to have your windshield tinted at all unless you have a medical condition that requires it. If they do pull you over for it they have a laser they put on your window to determine the visibility level and if its too dark you will get a ticket to remove it and appear in court. Once you get to court if you show visual proof (pic's) that the tint is removed they will drop the ticket. I have only heard of a few guys getting pulled over for it and it was dismissed once they removed it. But then again they both owned imports so go figure.:biglaugh:

91 is the best gas you can get out here.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.

Front Side Windows Must allow more than 33% of light in.

Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used.

Rear Window Any darkness can be used.

Haven't been to all of the towns/burbs yet but I thought Fountain Hills was pretty cool. There are no mountains in IL so I was impressed with the scenery up there. Would be cool to be that close to the lake, too.

I ment to chime in, Flagstaff has been upper 70s and mid 40s at night...cruise all day long with the windows down and the smell of pine trees in the air, funny what 2 hours and 7300 feet can do...

Awesome, welcome to the board and good luck with the move! You'll love it here, the car scene is amazing and there are so many things to see/do within only a few hours drive if you need to get away for a bit. I live about 1 1/2 hours north in Prescott and I love it here but I spend my weekends down in Phoenix with all my cool kid mustang people :woot1:

Live and well up in Fountain Hills! When I get settled in we'll see you guys around at the track and some of the cruises!

I can't believe how many nice Stangs I see driving around. Yesterday between here and Scottsdale I saw 2 Saleens, a zinc yellow Terminator, and a nice sounding SN95!

Welcome to the Valley of the Oven.

I think you should use that as your location. Lol

Fountain Hills is nice, I like it out there. It's not as far away from everything as some people make it out to be.
