Sounds like a good project you have going there.
Should be a nice street machine.
Post up some pictures so everyone knows what a Peugeot looks like.
Any mustangs in Bulgaria?

... :-( Very rarely … These cars cost too much, we cannot afford it in Bulgaria.
However, this is my favorite brand. I saw last Shelby GT500 on pictures …. I had no words, my heart stopped for a couple of seconds.
Even there are no many Mustangs in Bulgaria, it is a prestige, a matter of honor to owe and to drive such a car … no, no …. It is not a car – it is gorgeous and magnificent car.
As regards to my car and my project - here you are some pictures.
This is the car. Peugeot 605, model 1994. An old one, but it worth the money.

I wanted to order this exhaust manifold, but later on I decided to make it 4-2-1 instead of 4-1, because it will improve the performance of my engine:

Mike you have a good looking project in the works there.
Is there a drag strip in Bulgaria or any place to race?
Yes, we opened the 2007 season last weekend. Tomorrow there will be the first official drag race in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Bulgaria is a small country and there are not too many enthusiasts that are able to start a drag project.
However there are two powerful cars in Bulgaria. The first one is Ford Sierra with modified engine that shows 10.4 sec @ 1/4 mile. The other one is Nissan Skyline with 10.1 sec @ 1/4 mile.
Building more powerful car costs too much. Drags are not very popular yet in Bulgaria, that's why there is only one drag strip in Sofia where I am going to be tomorrow.
There are two race tracks in Bulgaria - one @ Plovdiv and one @ Sofia.

My target is 300 - 320 HP @ crank, I believe about 280 BHP. I need for everyday driving in the city and on the highway.
When I finish this project I will open another one for drag. I have one engine "Chochone" - v8, 5.000 l from Mercedes SL 500E. I believe it will kick 1000 HP @ crank at about 25 psi boost. Now I am looking for the proper cassis. But this project will start maybe late autumn.

The small one with "KUPOB" written on the right door is Fiat 126P. This is a very old Fiat, but produced in Poland. The stock engine is 600 cc, 2 cylinder and about 25 HP. Now the engine is 4 cylinder and hits 12.561 s @ 1/4 mile.
The white one with registration plate TX 8333 AX is an old russian Lada Zhiguli. No one knows what is behind the bonnet, but its time is 12.832 s.
Mitsubishi Eclipse - 11.292
Red Mitsubishi EVO - 11.281
Black Mitsubishi EVO - 13.400
Seat Ibiza - 13.710
Bellow the Seat picture you see the ligh blue .... TRABANT, from the former East Germany. The stock engine was 2-stroke 2 cylinder, the new one is 4 cylinder 1600cc, but it still shows above 14 seconds.
The violet Opel Corsa is with 2000cc 16 valve engine, mounted in the boot of the car. Its time is 13.419s.
.................................................. .........................
As I told you people in Bulgaria cannot afford to pay too much money for expensive cars and for performance tuning. But we are eager to do something with our hands, so these results are very good.
Even slowly, but we are growing up and I hope soon we will have some great cars for drag.

I am pretty unlucky guy, this project goes very slow. Without proper pistons and rods I cannot initiate anything. I need them installed inside the engine, then have to assemble the engine and mount it together with the gear box inside the engine department in order to build brand new 4-2-1 exhaust manifold.

Thank you guys.
The motor is going back under the bonnet this Saturday. Then a brand new 4-2-1 exhaust manifold will be produced on our own. This type of manifold will optimize the mid range revs, all the more that max revs will be up to 7000 rpm. It must be done around July 10. I believe the engine will ignite at the end of July ... I hope so.
Greetings to all of you.

I have a friend, out here, that has that same type of header/manifold on almost everything he owns. He claims it has the same proven benefits that you speak of, tabakoff. I believe that will help your 4-cyl engine in the midrange, as well.
Good luck with the fab-up of that manifold.

As I have read, 4-2-1 is prefferable for engines @ less than 8000 rpm . They have much broader power band. When it comes to top power, 4-1 would be best.

Not yet. My wife's father got insultus ... apoplexy, I am not sure for this medical term in English. So I had to stop the project for a while.
The exhaust manifold has just been done. I will post pics in a couple of days. There were no space to fit 4-2-1 header behind the engine so I had nothing but to acquiesce with 4-1 design. In any case it will be much better than a log-type.
I took down the engine again for the final assembling yesterday. When it will be fully assembled, I will put it back in the engine compartment and install the new intercooler, 2.5" turbo pipes, cold air tubes, 2.5" Blow-off alu flange, HKS SSQV Blow-off and 2.5" single throttle flap. A new hand made separate downpipe will be fabricated - one tube for the main flow out of the turbine, and smaller one for the gas through the wastegate. I will join the tubes just before the cat.
Next step will be the fuel delivery system. Finaly the ECU will be installed.
I ahve no idea when the project will be finished, but I have tones of patience.
Have a good time. When I have news I will post info.
Greetings to all of you.

Hi boys,
Sorry for being away for such a long time, but I had some problems that I had to resolve.
First pictures are not so good, but I forgot my camera at home ....
This is my 16-valve head - full port and polish, combusion chamber had been remastered, all sharp edges and hot spots had been removed for better combusion and to avoid detonations.

The hard work began. Firstly I tried to install the exhaust manifold, just be sure that there is enough free space behind the engine block.

I wanted to install the turbo at once... no way, I had to remove both turbine and comressor housings. Firstly I installed turbine housing, then the CHA and finally the compressor housing. It was OK.

http://misho.avproxy.net/2007-11-03_0001_Version_1_Intercooler_Pipes_WEB.JPG

I was out of silicone hoses so I went to the closest store .... damned, why all tuning parts in Bulgaria are much more expensive compared to the USA?!
I had to rearrange the pipes after the turbo:

http://misho.avproxy.net/2007-11-04_0011_Intercooler_Inlets_and_Pipes_WEB.JPG
Now I had to choose how to fix the intercooler. So I got this allien:
http://misho.avproxy.net/2007-11-06_Alien_Intercooler_WEB.JPG
Now I need one 135 degrees and one 150 degrees bends, most probablly I will do that on Monday.

Not yet. :-( I am out of money one again. I have my dashboard prepared with the new Stewart Warner gauges, looks perfect, awesome.
I ordered new 11" SPAL fans with high flow under static pressure. They should arrive somewhere in the middle of April because are new series and are not available yet in the USA. :-( I wanted to order them directly from Italy, but the price was higher with more than $150 and with this lack of money there is no need to hurry for the fans since I have to remake my exhaust manifold ....
... I got tired with this manifold. The guy that made the first one had taken wrong dimensions and it touches the thermo insulation of the engine bay. Now we are manufacturing new one where the turbo will be arranged besides the engine block and right above the gear box bars.
I desperately hope that I will have about $3000 in a couple of weeks from another project and belive the car will be on the road at the end ot May.... I keep my fingers crossed.
Thank you guys for you interest in my project. I couldn't have ever belive that my project could have met such interest in this forum. Thank you for that!!!:bowdown::bowdown:
May I ask the administrators to split my project from this theme and move it to a proper forum if possible? Just in order not to mess with the main subject of the theme.

Hi again!!!
I was facing some major problems with my exhaust manifold. First manifold was too close to the engine bay and the guy who made it said it was not his fault and refused to remade it .....
Never mind ... I ordered yesterday one stainless steel manifold from DP-Engineering from the Netherlands .... these guys rock!!!!!!!
I managed to find -45mm springs from an UK dealer of SPAXX .... I hope these springs will do their job.
Last week I received my front shock absorbers by KONI - Red Special. The same type rear absorbers work great on my pug 605.
On Monday I will have my dashboard remade with the new Stewat-Warner gauges and will post some pictures.
My project goes slowly, but the money problem in Bulgaria takes part in my project too ...
