I use the site Nav and recent topics on the side all the time. It just went away.
I use the Recent topics EVERY time I get on.
Site nav I have never used.
Buddy list I like. Its good to see if certain people are on.

I plan to leave the recent topics on the homepage only. If you enter thru the forums you can use the New Post button on the navbar for the same results.
I also like todays posts to see all post from the past 24 hours if you want to go back and review a recent thread that was already read or partially read.

Its nice to use when you are on and something is replied to. You can see it right away instead of having to go through the entire menu. I guess you could call it a lazy list. The one on the main login page is larger which is nice. Dammit I'm lazy.

As long as you leave the New posts and Today's posts buttons, I'm cool.

You're right. I like that too.
Is it too late to call myself efficient instead of lazy?

New Post is your friend.
Actually, one drawback to this = if you read a post from there within 30 seconds and click on it again, you have to wait until 30 seconds are up to view the posts.

Reduced to 15 seconds.
You can open the new post page then right click the new post and open in new tab or window. Thats how I catch up. I just open all of them in tabs and go thru them.

They are in the right place. Which is the bottom navbar. That is their location on a standard install.

15 seconds is perfect. Never thought of opening new tabs, will start doing that as long as it marks it as read.
