so, since jay is one wicked cool guy, he is letting me try out the saleens and see if its my cup of tea. and i gotta say i cannot thank him enough for letting me try this out. anyways, they are the chrome saleens, 17x9 in the front with 18x10 in the back. so far the only complaint i have is the tires need to be wider, but thats not a big thing imo. but take a peak at the pics and tell me whatcha think. be honest, so far i love it, but i always value the opinion of my fellow stang owners.

as a sonic blue brethren i say nay. they do look good though but with a car as bad ass as yours why not pony up and get some true forged wheels i think these would look perfect on a car as nice as yours http://www.trueforgedwheels.com/images/Wheels/Wheel7lg.jpg

santa rosa- though those are sick and i agree, that would be really out of the price range. if i am gonna spend that kinda money it would be on a cage or saving toward a whipple, lol. trust me though i would love something like those. as i always loved the hennessey's that dan has on his mach now. but dang, thats too ruich for my blood!

just kinda lookin for something different right at the moment, since every other cobra i see in town has the stock cobra wheels. ya know?

I think some FR500 wheels would look better maybe in charcoal grey 17x9 up front
and 17x10.5 out back. I Just happen to Know where you could get a set for $550.00 shipped.:biglaugh:

On SB, the chrome Saleens look awesome. I just wouldnt go with that staggered 17/18 combo. If anything go 18/18 or 18/19.

I hope to get Saleens on the Cobra I get

I have to agree with the above that the 17/18 doesn't quite cut it, it is making your rear rotor look small, or maybe it's just the picture. If it were me, I think I would stick with 17s all around. But if you like them and the price is right I say go for it.

btw, when can I get catch up with you and get those springs?

I dont think it looks bad, You can barely tell they are staggered anyways.

sent you a message since i had forgot to respond to your pm. sorry!!

as for the rotor, yeah, it looks tiny. probably because my rears are just gt brakes and not the 11.65 the cobras normally come with. i will battle that no matter what because i need the smaller brakes to clear my racing wheels. i am too a fan of 17's since i like the look of a little more tire, which is kinda why i was diggin this setup. since i could retain the 17" look in the front, while run a little bit bigger tire in the rear. after pricing 18" drag radials...oh my. thats painful!!!

18" DRs at PSR were like 250 each. Doesnt sound too bad to me.......

yeah...i guess its been awhile since i priced tires though..i always shop craigslist and what not. lol. the tires on the wheels now are in great shape, but i just want something wider. ya know, like a 315 or 335. woot!

wickedcobra

Yeah I hear you on that, it only takes money I guess..............Oh wait, thats the hard part

Yeah Nitto 305/35/18

AZSonicSnake

cool deal. i was thinking about going with nittos again..so that makes it easier. i want something that is a little better in more weather conditions. and though dr's are never good, the nittos were tolerable in the wet and the mickey are not!

I like the look a lot. Before I bought my car, I checked out a sonic blue vert with the same set - looked really good. Nice weekend shoes.

AZSonicSnake
03-09-08, 03:01 AM

I like the stock rims better. for some reason those saleens dont look good. idk just my opinion

They look okay, but for some reason I'm not feelin' em. Save the money and put it towards the Whipple fund. There's a reason most other Cobra's in town still have the stock Cobra wheels - they look good! Most other Cobra's in town still have the Eaton on them as well - be different; buy a Whipple or KB! You'll enjoy it more in the long run than those wheels!

AZSonicSnake
03-22-08, 08:46 PM
yeah, good point. but how many cobras in town have a polished eaton? hehe.

Wheels look great, I think 18" wheels all around would look best unless you went with a serious rake, but i'm still a fan of the AFS 18" 03/04 Cobra wheels. The Saleens are a rare look out here on the Terminators. The polished eaton would look good w those Saleens though, but a polished twin screw would look even better :woot2:
