Just curious, question for the "bus drivers". Coming in to Sky Harbor, how far out are you when lowering the landing gear?Is it a standard distance at all airports? One more question. What is the pay difference between say,Fedx/Ups commecial pilots and passenger flight pilots ?

Usually about 5 miles out, but that is not a set number. Depends on speed and configuration.
FedEx and UPS are at least paid 50% more than us poor passenger pilots.
I'd be lookin to get a job at UPS then...

Yes the $75,000 pay cut to go to their first year pay would be great. I am done starting over.
