Yea i know this is a mustang site but figured some people might have some input. I'm looking to do a cam only on my car right now has 3k stall, 3.23's, true duals, ported t/b, lid. I'm looking to do cam only and spray the car with a 125 wet shot (tnt f1 kit). For now i'm just going to run cam only until i get my tax return check then thats when the spray will come in.
So which cam
237/242 .603/.609 112 lsa (ms3)
239/242 .649/.609 112 lsa (ms4)
232/234 .595/.598 112 lsa (torquer 2)
230/236 .592/.602 112 lsa(thunder racing cam)
234/242 .600/.610 112 lsa (g5x3)
230/227 .591/.571 112 lsa (mti x1)
228/232 .588/.575 112 lsa (mti g1)
232-234-112lsa+0 xer lobes (not sure of lift)
232/234 .598/.610 112 lsa

i really like the idea behind the mti x1. I think the reverse split would work well. You can port heads so much but the intake still restricts the flow. Now you put a very good flowing exhaust behind something that leaves the valve open a little longer for more air and i think that would be a killer combo. From what i've seen and talking with mti this cam is a mid range tq monster. What do you guys think?

7'4 chromoly pushrods, comp 918's new series good up to a .650 lift, mti x1 cam for 599 shipped. If i do the over a 600 lift i plan on going to double springs

All of those cams are very similiar.

If you are intending to run NOS and have a full length exhaust system, use a cam with 4-8 degrees more on the exhaust.

All of the lifts are so close it wont make much difference. In running a cam with more intake lift, most do it when the heads flow 80% or more exhaust to intake flow. In the higher lifts its easier to get higher ratio rockers for the intake.

3.23's will be really testing that converter, good luck!

I had a comp cam close to the X1, (228/232 .579 .579 @ 112 lsa) and it was a pretty good little cam. My car put down 412rwhp/396ft lb. It's not a lot but it pulled pretty good on the street. My buddy has an X1 in his 99 M6 Z and it runs pretty good. I'd look into gears/stall before a cam. You're car will be night and day with these simple addations.

p.s. I killed a set of 918's so you might want to look into 921's just to be on the safe side.

how long ago did you kill 918's? They just recently changed the 918's. I ended up ordering a pt4400 stall, but heads cam stall and gears will be going in at once. Hopefully around may but probely am just going to wait until sep when the weather gets better. For now i'll look into some different rims

This was way over a year ago. The problem is the car had less than 18K when the springs bye-bye.
