I think this is even more crazy because it happened about 3 miles from my house. Not only is the driver balsy. Who in thier right mind would even have the nuts to ride along and film that.

Also, he claims a 'world record' at 219 but that was a speedo indicated 219. Is the speedo linked to GPS? Not being a hater here but isn't a speedometer fairly inaccurate at higher speeds?

That would be Aaron filming on his way to Mexico with a friend. He went 215 as a ride along, without him the car got up to 219. The type of person that would do this is a 30k millionare poser. One that wants ppl to envy him, causing him to be stupid.

I'm all for trying out your car and seeing what it can do, but not on a public highway IN TOWN. Run in the copperstate classic or similar event or go out in the middle of the desert and go as fast as you want.

The person who filmed it does do some of that kind of work. Also owns a few car sites.

I thought this was dumb from day 1. I never really ever saw the point. Congrats you have a car that can do 219 on a long straight freeway. Take it to the salt flats or to a track where it is legal and less dangerous (its never safe to do 219mph in a car).

Yeah, I saw this on Channel 5 Tuesday night. The place has been shut down and a lot of their content has been removed from youtube by the users. I'd say that if they have not already picked this guy up, he's not very far from a ride in the old police car. How could they not have seen this coming? Showing where they were clearly and telling everyone how fast they were going just seems ridiculous if you didn't want to get caught. I'm sure they already have an idea who the guy is.

When I saw the video, I posted somewhere, its a matter of time before these guys get caught. When they posted it on the internet, they were looking for attention and now they are getting it. Someone on SVTP said the owner of the car has a porn business and is very rich...don't know if that is true or not. But, hell...he will hire some good lawyers and get a slap on the wrist.
