yeah, you read right. its finally going on. my polished and stage IV steggy ported blower is finally on. along with a host of other supporting mods, i.e. BAP, SCT 2600MAF, 60lb injectors, RR Blower Spacer, 2.76 upper and 2lb lower. along with my modded intake (PSR FTW!). should have some new numbers soon. btw the lower kicked my ass. i could not get enough tension on the bolt to get it free. so, thats the one part other than the tune that i am not able to complete. but, here are the pics. nothing of the new intake yet, but i will get those up.

oh, and after devin worked his magic, got to 495hp and 498tq tonight. on crap pump gas and 17degrees of timing. woot. car is very fun to drive...:sticktonge:

Oh, I know. I really pissed my wife off on the 97 I had a while back with the money I spent in mods. I should have never sold that car - then again, if I did not, I would not have this one. I will try to do as much work as I can by myself. The money savings is nice but there is a satisfaction in doing it yourself and bustin a few nuckles. It does seem like Performance Solution is the place to go though and I need to stop by there this week to see about a roll bar.

Nice. Thats where I want to be. It does not take long to get used to the stock HP and it feels like driving a miata...not that I could fit in or have ever driven a miata.

Do yourself a favor and swap out the 2# lower for a 4#. The Stage IV ports need to be spun harder to produce the torque. Mine actually lost torque untill I added the lower.

Is that you dyno Bob cause when you port the blower you say not to spin it more than 18500 rpms cause it over spins the blower, resulting in better low end torque but losses in upper end power (you know the part you use drag racing) and at the pulley combo Tony is running he is spinning at 18841 rpm. Oh and if your not Bob Steigmeyer mind your own buisness Viper boy!!

Well Cap n Nut Lick, I know how much better my car reacted to the 4# lower with the 2.8" upper and just trying to help. Since you don't like it do something useful and go learn how to spell Stiegemeier. :duh:

Well if you had taken the time to read Tony's mods, he has a 2.7 upper not 2.8, and if the best you can do is correct my spelling of some ones last name all you are wanting to do is turn this into a pissing contest and I'm not going to waist everyone's time with that!! :applause:

I did read the post and a 2.76 and a 2.80 have almost no difference in performance. I wasn't looking to cause a pissing contest, just stating a "Real World" result from my experience. :yes:

You're the one looking for a pissing contest so make sure you shoot it straight up in the air and gargle it before you swallow! :Bucktooth: Do us all a favor and go back to not posting.

wow, first things first if you go take a look at the stiegemeier website, http://www.stiegemeier.com/faq.html i went with the recommend pulley combo. dyno bob himself does not recommend spinning the ported blower any harder. so, since not only does the guy that ports the blower suggest not spinng the blower faster, the guy tuning my car wholefully agrees. so, given that info, i will stick to what the experts say. i appreciate any suggestions, but honestly, i am super happy with my combo, and she makes kick ass daily driven power. :twothumbsup:

what octane fuel are you running? with a stge 3 with a 4# 2.93 combo i made 522rwhp with 92 octane and 23 degrees timing

Out here the highest pump gas is 91 and its about the same as 89 anywhere else according to the government tests a few months ago.

His street tune is VERY safe and conservative, if we pushed it to the edge he would make around 510 or so. But since he runs race gas at the track there isn't any reason to push the street tune that hard.

I put my 20 PSI tune in and the usual can of torco and the car was pinging and running much leaner than last winter. Had to add more fuel across the curve and pull a little more timing. This crap must be super oxygenated this year.

Jeff, when did you notice that? I switched the L back to our winter tune and didn't notice a thing. I don't know exactly how much timing is in each tune, but I do know that it didn't detonate or ping at WOT. It DID blow the tires off each time I stabbed the throttle! :icon_cool:

I'm asking, because most of the stations don't have the stickers showing the dates of when they start the winter fuel. And, I've never had a problem with our winter 91. I, also, find it hard to believe that our fuel is worse then California's. The L will ping on their fuel, at WOT.

When I put the 20 PSI pulley back on I had some older gas in the tank. I was at 11.6-11.8.

I filled up and added the usual can of torco and I was at 12.0-12.2.

The winter gas kicks in Oct 1st I believe.
