View Full Version : Power 2 the ground
'Sup fellas! New to the forum and glad to join. I need your wisdom on how to best put horsepower to the rear wheels in an automatic? Is a TCI Streetfighter torque converter and an aluminium driveshaft a good place to start? Also, does anyone know a trustworthy shop in the Tucson/Phoenix area?
Many thanks....TXBKR

Yes and Yes. I know squat about TCs but the spydershaft is the best D/S for autos hands down.

There mods that reduce rotating mass would be a alum flywheel and UDPs. I felt faster with the Flywheel and spydershaft each when they were put in. LCAs, UCA's and other suspension mods are helpful in getting power to the pavement too.
Great info, thx! Now, if I can get info re: torque converters and a shop's name (AZ people) I'll be ready to roll; no pun intended.
on my 05, ive gone a best of 1.629 60' i run the stock springs/struts/shocks and just CHE lca's and uca. i do all the work myself at my shop

Try a Saleen watts link and a Saleen 4.10 Maxgrip differential

What mods have already been done? Any pics?
It's an '08 GT, auto (paralyzed left arm). So far I've done FRPP cat back, C & L CAI w/Pred tune, FRPP springs to lower the ride and 20x9 AR Razors.
However, after some talking & reading, I'm gonna put a Whipple SC probably next week. Too bad that I can't use the C & L and the Pred tune w/the Whipple.
