View Full Version : going to SW 4-21
I plan to head to the track after work if anyone wants to go. I just found out that my wife doesn't have to work at night so she told me:laughing1: to go to the track. She said that I need to get some real numbers from my new setup.LOL So I'm going to be working on my launch more then the ET, because that is whats killing my ET right now.

I may go attempt to break a stock halfshaft on the slicks. LOL
Just bring a few tools and a spare half-shaft and we can change it in the pits.:icon_cool: I had to that at a FFW event that I went to with a friend back home. We were about 8hrs from home, and he was glad that he paided for me to go with him to take care of his Cobra. That would have been a huge tow bill!

Don't have a spare, but I have a buddy with a trailer. Same guy who towed you home. LOL
If I go I will keep the launch to 4500 max and all should stay together.
:biglaugh: LOL
You would bring that horrible night back up. I've tried to forget about that little problem HAHA.

How many cars show up on Saturday night?

I will go also, as long as some other mustangers will be there. I did not want to be the only Stang in a sea of Ricers.
Oh wait, didn't I read in another post that my car is the
"current evolution of rice" That comment MAY cost someone. :imsmilin:
I may stop by the Safeway parking lot at 83rd and Lake Pleasant Pkwy, before heading out there. They have a car gathering there on Saturday afternoon, that I hear is growing.
Anyway, see you at the track.

Well It looks like we may have a decent turnout. The rain will be done by noon and the weather channel is calling for sunny and 69 by race time. Just maybe I can get in the 11's...

Yes it is..
It was nice seeing everyone tonight. I had a good time even though the track wasn't the best.
BurnTire atleast you didn't brake a half-shaft.....LOL:icon_cool: But you were still in the 10's, congrats on that.

i dunno how everyone else was not getting traction....2 of my 3 runs were dead hooks. 1.73 60', and the other it bogged because i left at 2k thinking it was gonna slide everywhere. oh well, fun fun night!! defiently happy i made the choice to go out there. after all i ran my new best!!! 12.08@115. :woot1:

It was good to hang out with everyone.
I was hoping to beat me best time or break my stage 100 super stock half shafts, but neither occurred. 12 PSI in the new 28" slicks and spun all 3 times with a lousy 1.6 60ft time.
Well I had an 11.0 run and then two 10.9 runs.
I know the car has an 10.6 in it if I could get a well prepped surface.
Well that is probably my last time to the track with the IRS.
I will be looking for those 1.3 60ft times next.

Thanks Shane
My super stock stage one million shafts are tough.
I was hoping to beat my best of 10.8, but the track would not cooperate.
But the 10.9 is good for a non trailer queen. LOL

I put the cats back on the other day. I am tired of the fumes.
Made it nice quiet again. LOL
Didn't hurt the performance though.
NICE 10.9's and emissions legal!:biglaugh:

I think next time out I'm going to see if Dan will let me use the "super sticky" DR's we have at the shop that will fit my car nicely.:icon_cool:
Anyone know what my corrected times would be for the night. Or were I need to look to figure it out. I never really worried about it before, but now I want to know for some weird reason.

Cool or my slicks will accidentally fall onto your car.
LOL
I think the MT DR's at the shop on stock wheels should help out alot. I don't think my slow*## has enough power to turn your slicks, but I'ld give it a try.

I almost headed out there last night. I put in the new 6,000 stall Edge converter yesterday and I was in the neighborhood.
But . . . I forgot to bring my safety gear!! :(
Neutral Drop.
Um in one word, NO.........LOL
I think I'ld just use the bottle if I ran slicks.
That sucks TRUUBLE, maybe next time. I'ld like to see that monster of yours going down the track.

I'll be out there next weekend for a team race, and I might have to go to Firebird Friday night for my licensing passes. The car has run a best of 10.24, but I'm pretty sure the new converter and the gear change (from 3.73s to 4.30s) will put me in the middle nines.
Good luck! A nine sec vert is just sick.
