What was the name of the pug in Men In Black? It should be something that relates to THOSE EYES! "Don't rush on a name... since it's going to be something that you have to deal with for a long time. Make sure it's easy, short and has at least one hard sound (constinant)? It makes it easier for the dog to pick out his name when it's said.

Staring at the picture it reminded me of Al Jolson. Sort of white with a black face. (No offence to anyone). How about "Al". You can pop the "A" sound to get his attention.

What was the name of the pug in Men In Black?
Congratulations on finding your new companion Trish! Dogs are alot of company, and fun.
I like Ricks idea for a name. FYI you might seriously consider feeding it a high quality low fiber diet, Chinese Pugs can be prone to being (very) gassy on lower quality food. Ask around, (3-4 sources) for feeding sugestions, It's a safe bet that your Vet will recommend Science Diet (They get "kickbacks" based on how much of it they sell). There are better foods out there.
Who is your Vet? There are some east valley Vets that I have heard very good storys about.
Rick, do you want to tell the story of your dog, and how she go her name(It's humorous, and a tear jerker, at the same time!)?

I think it was Frank.

Where did you get him? Our dog, Bart, just passed away and we are looking to adopt another. We rescued Bart from the Humane Society in Tucson and he was the kindest, sweetest, best dog we could have ever wanted.

Hi-Jack in progress:
Both of my daughters picked out large dogs at the pound when they were in high school. They were really great dogs... I loved them both. Unfortunately Joey died on Thanksgiving day from a burst tumor at are 4, and Max (the worlds best dog) died of Liver cancer at age five. While we were spending a small forture trying to find out what was wrong with Max we were told that in the back of the clinic was a rehab/rescue. Max spent 10 lonely days going through a very sad downhill health experience (death). I'll never forgive myself for putting him through that pain. But at the time we didn't know his illness was fatal and we were trying to save his life.
After Max died we were on the internet looking at dog sites and ran across the Desert Labrador Retreiver Rescue. Danged if there wasn't the cutest little yellow lab standing in the parking lot of the same clinic where we said goodbye to Max and she was up for adoption. The catch was that she only had three legs. She had been a stray and was run over by a car and pretty badly crushed. The clinic interns used her to practice their trade and did a great job. Now Eileen (I-lean) shares our house with Sarah, another rescue.
Dogs lift our spirits and brighten our life.

lol . . I have a son named Max.
Bart was half black lab and half some kind of hound. He was great. He was my daughter's best friend for almost 10 years.
We only take rescue dogs, so I'll check out the Desert Lab center. Thanks.
Check ABC animal shelter its close to Bell and 32st. They are a nonprofit, non kill shelter with a bunch of good dogs. My wife works there, if you are looking for a certain kind of dog let me know and I'll see if they have one. We have adopted two dogs from there.

I named him "Odie" cause it fits him hehe, I got him from an animal hospital, They will be doing the neutering for me also. It is one of my customers wife, she works there and I put the bug in her ear about a pug and she came through. He is so smart too. He sleeps all night in his bed with no complaints. Its well worth the money.

Too cool, I have a pug (female) as well. We named her Gidget. She was a B-day gift from my wife. Which is not really what some might consider a masculine breed. Especially if you know me, 6'2 230.
For some suggestions here are a couple.
Woodrow
Rubin
Cody
Chester
Rasputin
Stiles
Bazel
Chester.......
Marty (Feldman...)
Newman (Sienfeld)
Good luck

Please, no. One of those is enough!
I've been staying close to home this weekend, getting caught up on things that should have been done last weekend, and dog sitting my Dads Golden Retriever "Rusty". The breed has been in my Family 25 years now, great dogs.
I had one when I lived in Washington State "Willie", he had gun, and field trials dogs in his pedigree. Easiest dog I have known to train, he would sit there, and you could see his mind at work triyng to figure out what you wanted him to do. Loved to go cross country skiing with me, boy would he snore that night!

Hi everyone, long time, no post.
Site looks great with all the new features/sections/Smilies. I remember when Rockysmom was a Newbie. Now she's got 10x's the post count that I do! :tearsofjoy:
True story somewhat related to this thread;
My buddy walks in to a McDonalds in Provo UT. Orders up an Ice Cream Sundae. The guy at the cash register asks him "you want a male or female Sundae?" My buddy is confused, thinking they are different sized, prices or something else...
Puzzled, he has to ask, what's the difference? The cashier with a straight face tells him "The Male Sundae comes with nuts".
