I forget what the stall speeds are for the 15 and 16 but I am pretty sure its close to max cruise for the P-51. Cool pictures. The P-51 and F-16 are the two most influential planes that make me want to get my PPL. Of course that requires time and such so maybe once I am out of school I can get it. Flown a few times in a side by side and NOTHING beats the thrill of flying.

P-51 can cruise at 250-275kts easy. That is more than enough to fly with the F-16. I can't tell if the the jets have some flaps out in the photos, but if so that would allow them to fly much slower.

I could definitely tell about the flaps. It has been about 2 years since I actually took an Aeronautical Engineering class so I don't remember the specs anymore. I wonder if they cleared them to run any faster than normal seeing as they were flying over the city at a pretty low altitude

Airshows usually have waivers on speed. The P-51 can hall ass when pushed. It is hard to tell the my have the flaps at the first setting or the P-51 is pushing some boost.
