Curious! I did the Corvette 50th in 2003, it was hosted by GM/Chevrolet corporate(no clubs or assiciations were involved). The site was Bowling Green KY where the plant and museum are located and Nashvilles Titan Stadium for the ZZTOP concert. Absolutly well done, it was said the 50K people and 15 to 20K Corvettes were there. I drove my Corvette 1600 miles each way, the Caravan was awsome and well organized.

My point is, where does Ford corporate stand in all of this? I find the MCA to be self-serving, but optimistic they will get the job done. No matter where it is, or who does it, I will be there. If asked to help I will. A lot of work will go into this event, money will be spent by someone. I will not stand on the sidelines and complain, I will have fun.

MCA is going to do whatever they want. Ill choose the location that FORD seems to be endorsing or participating more, it will also have an affect on who is going as a group for me. Im already putting some money away since I know this adventure wont be cheap. I voted NO for 2 locations. Watering down both events is lame since 2 locations wont afford both to have the same guests and events. Frankly Ford should be drastically involved more than MCA.

Well supposedly Ford is planning a show for around July. But I guess it has been on the back burner or really hush hush about the show so far. If there is still two MCA shows Ill do the one in Vegas and then see about the one at Ford. That would be the one to go to.

Read the MCA media release for the 50th, no mention of Ford corporate involvement. Looks like just an MCA thing. I searched the Ford Media site and there was no mention of anything with the 50th. It was interesting that Ford was very involved in the 40th according to their site. We may be too far out from the an event they are working on, but Ford is planning to make a big deal about the unveiling of the next gen car, just don't say how or when. I was at an unveiling celebration that Ford had April of '94 for the sn95, they rented a large warehouse, had cars under covers, free eats, and with a big screen feed from Dearborn had a simaltanious uncovering of the cars. It was by invitation only (Mustang Clubs members were invited), they definitly made a big deal back then. I was at the reveal of the sn197 at the North American Auto Show in Detroit in January 2004, less of a big deal. It looks to be a wait and see thing, but know this, after making trips to Detroit, you don't want to be there in April. Summer aint much better either.

Hi folks, I'm new here thanks to jacostang. I thought that Knotts Berry Farm usually has their Show this same weekend? If so, that makes 3 Shows the same weekend.

I just heard that Ford has something planned for that summer not in conjunction with MCA. Nothing official though.

Redbaron welcome to the site! If that is the case yea that would be three major regional shows the same weekend and that is also easter weekend. But I have heard the Knott's doesn't have their shows on Easter weekend. So that show may be the weekend before. But still, three major shows within a week of each other. MCA didn't think this through or ask any of their members what they thought. They just made a decision that was that.

ill probably wait for the ford show.Same here. But if they do have a Vegas show we'll probably go to that too. And if there are enough people who want to do the show Ford puts on, we can see about about filling up an auto transport if people don't want to drive all the way to Michigan. I just can't see Ford themselves not doing something special for the 50th. That will a big moment for Ford and doubt they will let it go by with nothing special.

I sent a pretty good email to Ford asking them if only MCA was going to sponsor a show. I didn't get a reply didn't think I would. Still going to decide if I'm going to support the MCA shows.

Still leaves the big question unanswered, when will Ford break cover on the '15. Remember, they have used the original release in April and have done it at the North American Auto Show in January. The only official thing I can find is "the '15 will be a big deal". FORD, WE ARE WAITING!
