Recently my belt tensioner pulley and arm recently broke on my car, the bearings got all messed up and bent and the pulley itself was bent on the arm of the tensioner which also messed up. My question is, when I went to parts stores to look up this part, they gave my a belt tensioner arm with a smooth pulley similar to an idler pulley, and the one that was on my car was a ribbed pulley (8 rib) I tried looking up pics and i find both smooth and ribbed pullies for the belt tensioner, so which one do I go with????

What came off my car:

And THIS is what I keep getting results for:

I would go with what the car came with. Ribbed.

That was my thought as well, I asked one SVTP and a few members said it happened to them, and to go with a ribbed one because it helps with belt slip and keeps the belt alligned (which makes sense) they also told me to just buy a stock lightning tensioner as its the same thing and a direct bolt on to the Cobras and comes with a 8 rib pulley. Just need to find out where to get one at now

Ford sucks floppy donkey explitive. They were all confused when I asked them, and when they finally figured out what I was needing, the quoted me like $620+ for some big whole assembly thing because "Ford doesnt sell that individual pice" (I CALL BS) so if you can help me find one Ill pay you a finders fee. I went to Make, Model, Year and they might have the right one I need I will find out here in a little bit if it's the right one or not.

Did you try Sanderson? Pretty helpful last time I called

It appears everyone is buying the Lightning unit since its 1/4 the price of the Cobra one:

See if Toulsey can get you this part # and call Sanderson with it. 800-328-9552
