I have a question that is for my wife's car. She has a 2006 Hyundai Sonata that is a V6 model which came with 17 inch wheels. The problem is I want a tire that is not low profile because she likes to go four wheeling in parking lots and I would like a tire that can take some abuse. The tires that are OEM is a tire size of 225-50-17. I want to go to a tire that is a little taller. I guess Hyundai changed the tires to 215-55-17 but that really doesn't change the height of the tire at all. I don't want to look like a truck either if we can avoid it.

I take it that you have already checked Tire Rack & Discount Tire websites ? Check for a 225/60/17?

dont forget that when you change the tire diameter your speedo will be of and you need a programmer to make it right and you need to change all 4 otherwise you will have the abs abd esc light coming on i would not chang it and this comes from a hyundai tech

Why do you want a taller tire?

I want a taller tire so that when she romps onto the curb coming in my driveway and also for a better ride. I do not like low profile tires. As you can see with my stang I have 275/50/17 on the rear.
