I have found an 89 LX Hatchback with the 5.0 and AOD. This car is absolutly stock, for sale by original owners (seen docs).
I has 123k miles, the body is straight with some small damage behind the left rear wheel house below the belt moulding. Paint is a tan and is dull but not burned off, the interior is faded, driver seat back is broken on one side and a wornout on left side bolster, a/c does not cool or operate dash vents, fuel door release does not work, central locks don't work on passenger door and gas cylinders for rear hatch are tits-up. What I have not mentioned is ok. Has sat outside all its life. Emissions are unknown, drives nice, oil in trans and motor look ok, tires are old (did I say very old) but not gone. It would make a great driver with clean-up, and some minor repair, and pass the stink test. This looks to be a great FOX project. What should I give? I will have pics tomorrow.

Typically any 5.0 goes for $2000 and up from what I see lately. If I could see pics Id give you a better idea of price. But, depending on condition I'd say $2000-$2500, especially since the paint isnt burnt.

Pics would help, but AOD's def sell for alot less than the 5spd cars. I would say from the sounds of it 1500ish

Ah, true, didnt realize it was an AOD. Id say 1500ish for that depending on interior.

Here are interior pix, and a look at the only body damage on the car. The driver seat back appears broken or something at the right hinge, does not stay in position, fabric on seats is ok but the left edge of driver seat vynal torn at the bead, most of the interior is faded. Needs some serious cleaning and TLC. From what you see here, what do you guys think this car is worth?

Asking $ 2500. Here is what I know, most miles were when the car was near new and on trips, recent mostly storage and seasonal use. The tires are near dry rot and need to be replaced, a/c does not work and an issue with dash vents not op, right door lock inop, hatch gas cyls dead and problem latching, alt lite stays on, driver seat back has a problem, the rest is cosmetic and clean-up. Car drives great, no rocket but steering, brakes, tranny and motor sound and feel ok. Lots of owner recipts and original purchase doc from Lou Grubb Ford in Scottsdale. Since the owners are in Sun City, I am assisting them in selling the car, and feel it should stay in the Mustang community. My toy box is full right now so this is fair game. I have owned many Fox's so I know this car, if it's a notch and manual I would be all over it. Dads and sons, this would be a great bonding project. PM if interested.

Anywhere from 1k to 1500 would be a fair price for that car..

Looks ok, color is going to hurt it a bit Tan on Tan but it does have the GT interior, not the LX option so they may have ordered it like that with the upgraded interior...

Only 236 made in that color for 1989.

Hmm that's an Early 89' LX Sport. Pre-25th Anniversary Edition.
Indicators of that: Has Tilt Steering, No Dash Badge and it still has a Center console. :)

Still not a bad specimen.
