A little Rattle & Squeak deep down

as a few of you know had a little problem with my engine maybe
a few to many horses to the wheels any way she has a terminal illness
am taking it apart a piece at a time to see what broke
it is a 4.6 3 valve so this is a interesting project for me (above my pay grade) lol
top looks good front looks ok so now the fun begins get it out and on the stand
I've been taking pictures every step of the way so as soon as I shrink them down I will post
them for all to see

I know an easier way to fix that! Put the blower back on, pulley it up to about 18-20 PSI, wait for a rod to come out the side of the block, then order a FRPP Aluminator shortblock.

no new pictures today was working under the car taking the starter x-pipe and more friggin wires off
used a white marker on the wires tells me where they all go transmission should be ready to come out tomorrow or friday
and the engine by sat. or sun. if all goes well and yes Wharf Rat I have been looking into a FFRP short block or such
I just want to see what I destroyed first

This sort of stuff is why I get nervous about supercharging my motors. It only takes a little bad to create a whole lot of really bad! I don't envy you Dennis, I know this is a pain in your azz! But I know when its fixed your car will be very fast.

Start checking around for a 09 or 10 F-150 5.4 3V engine in the junk yards. They are iron blocks built for torque and your scharger should fit. You could use your engine as a core or coffee table, which ever works for you. "NO" you can't have mine!

took the block & heads to cali this morning it's getting a complete forged bottom end
should have it back in two weeks and up and running sometime in september
just in time for the cooler weather :thmbsup:

The weather in Flagstaff is absolutely beautiful this morning! Clear skys and sunny 60's. Hopefully that holds until later this afternoon. Hasn't rained in Flag since about 3pm Friday afternoon.

to be honest I'm a lil on the scared side.. the motor makes 400 in the stock form.. it now has more compression, big cam and aftermarket heads..
Anyway the motor may put out close to 500 plus were are going to :NOS1: on two stages 250 hp.. so 750 hp in a car that weighs less than 3K lbs. I have never piloted something with that level of power... so I'm taking some extra underwear..

I have been taking her to the Pavillons when I can. She had issues w/ the floats in her carb. Taking the day off friday to throw the carb back on, minor adjustments and clean up an engine bay for Saturday!
