Headed down to try for a 10 second slip with the Lightning. Didn't quite make it only got to 11.082 @ 124.6 mph but that was on a 1.9 60' Track was too cold to hold it, 38*.

However I did have the pleasure of beating the "World record Silverado" or so he claims. It was a twin turbo 427 all wheel drive with DRs on all four. He came over and asked me to race and I said SURE. I saw him in the mirror at mid track but that is all I saw of him. He has videos of running 10.7 in CA at sea level. He had a long list of excuses for losing, like falling asleep at the light, it wouldn't shift into third...

What ever, it was fun and I'd love to run him again when he has it running right so we could have a real side by side race.

I was thinking about hitting the track on March 5th with Team Firebird to try to get on a sticky enough track to actually get my 10 second slip. Anybody ever run with Team Firebird?

I know the guy you were running, his name is Chase. His truck is fast. I have a video of you two running if you want me to post it up. I was going to head out with my SS, but it is no way that fast. It is a heavy pig. The best I could rip off was a 14.9. I can also post up his 10.7 run for your enjoyment. And to be fair he was having issues with the truck. He dove it from Cali, because they were having a G2G.

That would be great if you could post up the vid of us running, I want to see how bad I really did spin off the line. I've seen the video of him running the 10.7. That is why I mentioned that it would have been fun to run him with it running right. Would much rather have a good close race. I understand his 10.7 was in CA which would be closer to sea level so we should be a close race here. If not I could reach down and turn on the juice to keep up. Please do post up the vid.

Sure here you go. You definitely had him at the light. Had you both gotten a good light it would have been a great race. And on a side note, if you had a chance to check out the truck it is done up right. Twin turbo 427 LSX. It is a beautiful truck.

Yep I did go over and look at it afterwards. Looks nice. I knew I spun taking off but I didn't realize that I had let out of it to catch traction. It looks a lot closer here than it did while racing and looking at the time slip. Do you know the guy? If he is ever back over again I would to race again. Way he was coming on before it didn't shift looks like I'd have a handful with him. That would be fun. I'd take him on for two out of three. Since he doesn't have a cage I know I would win that one, :-)

Thanks for filming and posting the video.

Any chance I could get a copy of that. Send it to tennant@cox.net if you would.

I was not the one filming so that is the only thing I have. I don't know Chase personally, but from what I have heard he is a pretty cool guy. I think if the setting was right you would both have a great race.

NICE RUN JIM!...............Needs some suspension tuning. ;)

Who was banging off the rev limiter?

That was not me banging the limiter. I only shift at 6200, limiter set for 6800. He said he had problems shifting. I really think if we both launched good and he shifted right we would be heads up. If he started pulling on me I would have to reach down for the juice switch to cool the IAT2's. He runs a 10.7 at sea level and I run 11.08 with a spinning 60' of 1.9. Sounds like a race to me. But I don't know when he will ever be back.

BTW I have tried the juice on the street with 75 pills, 112 race gas, and street tune and an 10.6 A/F while it's flowing, I changed the jets to get the A/F on the street tune. Feels pretty good. Just didn't have the nads to turn it on in 38 degree weather even tho it was only pilled for 35 that night. If you tell Devin about the juice he'll probably shutter.

Guess I'll have to go play with Ken and Dave in thier Lightnings, Ken at 11.09, Dave at 11.1, me at 11.08. We have some smokin Gen II Lightnings.

Give me a bit of heads up, but come and get me the next time you head to the track. I'd be happy to help you with the truck!

Now that would be some good racing to watch between you guys!:thmbsup:
