I love banging gears on the street, but have been told if I want to experience the full potential of my setup, an auto is the way to go. How much coin am I looking at spending going to an auto with overdrive. This is a 95% street car, hardly go to the track. I know Burntire has done it, so look forward to your expertise.

4R70 or could you do a TH-400 with a Gear Vendor.
I would say a well built 4R70 would be the way to go if you don't plan on much track time.
Mach 1 PCM and you can have a full auto setup but that is more $$$
Manual Valve Body would require you to manually shift the auto, but you can keep your current PCM less $$$.
To do it right you are looking at at least 5K.

Dave King has a good write up--click here (http://www.modularfords.com/2008/08/08/installing-a-4r70w-into-a-03-04-mustang-cobra/)

Thanks Jeff. For as much as I drive the car, 5K doesnt seem too appealing. Car only has 17k miles on it. I'll stick with the stick lol.

It gets expensive. I would stay stick unless you start hitting the track alot on slicks.

What could you sell the T56 for? Is $5k having a shop do the work?

I would love a manual valve body

I had the viper spec so I got about $2400 for it. I think a stocker would get about $1,000 to 1,200.

I spent $5802.75 doing all the work myself.

Tranny $2900
Converter $960
Drive shaft $395
Bell Housing $370
Then $1,200 for all the other stuff , Shifter, Center console kit, Trans Cooler, Lines and Fittings, Catch Can, Dip Stick.
