The 27th Annual Run To The Pines show limited to 550 pre 1973 vehicles will be Sep 24 through Sep 26 in Pinetop. I am attaching the registration packet for those interested in entering. The show is expected to sell out by May 15. We had a good turn out of Mustangs last year and I hope to see even more this year.
Thanks for the heads-up Trick Pony! Will get my entry form in the mail tomorrow.

The show is Sold Out at 550 entries. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of Mustangs this year. I will be the guy parking the Mustangs on the field.
I'm number 19 - can't wait! Got a long hot summer to get through first:biglaugh:

Wow! You must be fast. I handed mine in before we even started stuffing registration envelopes and I am #3.
Long hot summer? It was 32 here this morning going to mid sixties today. It needs to warm up so my garden starts growing.

The show is coming together nicely. We have 550 entries with over 50 cars on the waiting list. Just about all the vendor booths are taken. Last night we got this year's logo.
Here it is... http://www.highperformancestangs.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=5637&title=rttp-logo-s&cat=500

Hmmm, that didn't work. I'll try attaching the logo.

It sure is. Bob Gates who runs the show has a 66 coupe so Mustangs are often on the logos.

We'll be there - we got a booth! Look out for "Infinite Detail" booth at the show :-D
Hey, I am renting a house up there on Friday and Saturday night 24-25th and turns out my family will not be joining me. That leaves me with a 3 bedroom house all by myself. Anyone interested in sharing the house for the car show weekend. Plenty of parking off the street. Trick Pony - know anyone looking for a place to stay? I might still be able to back out but would prefer to stay if I can find roomies for the weekend.
Send a reply or PM to Steve. Thanks

I don't know of anyone right now but I'll check around. Are you renting the same place as last year?
There is a strong rumor that Dennis Gage and "My Classic Car" will be at the show.
Just around the corner from where I was last year - that one was not available. Still within about a mile of the show grounds.
Sorry - slow on the uptake. Who is Dennis Gage?

Dennis is the guy with the big handlebar moustache that does the "My Classic Car" show. I think that it is on Speed channel.

KEWL! I'm ready for the Pines now - I've had enough of the weather down here in the Valley. Trick Pony, hear of anyone looking for lodging for the show - $180 or less for the whole weekend.

Come on up this year Dave. I got plenty of room at a house I'm renting right near the golf course. Three bedrooms and I'm only using one - the family decided I was on my own this year :( Can make you a great deal!
Hey Dave - you could even ride up with me. I'm leaving Friday afternoon and returning Sunday after noon. I might need help pushing - you never know with these old cars :snicker:

Don't be so sure. Went to take a drive this weekend and found out the Hall-effect sensor on my MSD distribution went south. It'll be fixed in time for the run to Flag. And it will be good to see you in Pinetop! If you change you mind, my offer is still open for the house - plenty of room for the family.

Run to the Pines Car Show hits the gas
Dennis Gage
to film event
PINETOP-LAKESIDE — The 27th
annual Run to the Pines Car Show featuring
550 pre-1973 classic vehicles
will be filmed this year for the world
renowned “My Classic Car” show hosted
by none other than Dennis Gage.
Just a little more than three weeks
away (Sept. 24-26), classic car fans will
want to make note of the dates so they
can be sure to attend. The car show is
again hosted by the Pinetop Lakes Golf
and Country Club located at 4643 Buck
Springs Rd.
Gage’s show has been on the air
since 1997. “My Classic Car” is well
known for Gage’s vocal love of classic
automobiles winning acclaim from car
aficionados like Jay Leno with whom
he has produced a DVD on the subject.
Bob Gates (along with wife Linda,
Randy Corbin and the non-profit Run to
the Pines Committee) organize the Run
to the Pines Car Show every
year, but said this year is special
in that Gage has chosen them to
be on his show viewed by classic
auto fans all over the world.
Taking place the last weekend
in September, the Run to the
Pines 2010 started taking applications
in April, but according to
Bob within three weeks all of the
slots were filled. Linda said there
is always a chance that someone
will not make it to the car show,
leaving an open slot, but don’t
get your hopes up folks because
even if someone is a no-show, it
is too late to get into the show.
Linda said people will start
arriving at the Pinetop Lakes
Golf and Country Club with their
cars on Friday for registration.
The kick-off parade takes place
at 4:15 Friday afternoon going
from Show Low (In the Double
D Furniture parking lot) to Hon-
Dah Resort Casino.
As every year, there will also
be the traditional barbecue (held
at Hon-Dah this year) Friday
after the kick-off parade.
Saturday/Sunday is the judging
portion of the show which will be
done by participants to choose
winners in 23 categories.
There will be a judging by the
public, but that will be done by
the children of spectators who
will make their spectators choice
for best of show.
Sponsors for this years show
include Paul Dean Design and
Illustrations, Golden Eagle Distributors
Show Low branch,
Fresh Budweiser, Embellish
Boutique, DD Furniture Gallery,
The Town of Pinetop-Lakeside,
Cable One, Hon-Dah Resort
Casino, Carquest, Tate’s Auto
Group, El Rancho Restaurant,
Pepsi-Cola and Cellular One.
All of the proceeds from the
car show each year benefit local
charities like The Love Kitchen.
The show is free to the public.

Next week is show time! Things are technically a little slow up here in the woods but we finally got a Run To The Pines webpage. It is just a beginning now with plans to add pictures and more as we progress.

Almost showtime! We got about an inch and a half of rain today but the skies are clearing. The weather promises to be partly cloudy with highs in the 70s:woot2:
The 65 broke a valve spring coming home from Bison Ranch on Saturday but she is all fixed and raring to go. My car will be in the Host Club class again this year so come by and vote for #3 :biglaugh: I will be parking the Mustangs on Saturday morning. Thursday night we stuff 600 goody bags.
It's always something with these ole cars! We are driving up late Friday morning and can't wait for the cool pines.

I hope that you make the Cavalcade of Cars 15 mile parade/cruise from DD Furniture in Show Low to the Hon Dah casino where ther will be a BBQ (included in entry). That is my favorite part of the weekend. If you can, get to DD by 3:00. The parade leaves about 4:15 but it is good to be in front to get good parking at Hon Dah. You do need to check-in at the golf course on Friday because no car can get on the field Saturday without a the entry card in the window
How late is registration open? We will probably leave the east valley about 11:30 so should be in town before 4:00

Registration will be open until at least 5:00.
Should be no problem but we might miss the parade if I need to register first. Will still try to make the BBQ. Just can't get away any earlier from work.

The show was another great success! The numbers aren't in yet but we probably raised around $18,000 for the local charities here on the mountain.

Very cool!!!!!
It was a great show and a very fun drive up and back with all the classics! Congrates on all the dough raised for charity. I donated my door prize back to a local charity - really had no use for a chandelier:biglaugh:
When I get a spare moment I will post pics of some of the fabulous ponies to round out the video.
A few Fords from Run to the Pines 2010!
Some more Fords. That 54 light blue Ford pickup with the beautiful Y-block belongs to Don and Brenda Wise.
One more batch of Fords! And a few Copperstate members enjoyed the cool:bouncy:

Great pics, 66 Pony! You do need to get here in time for the Friday parade/cruise next year. I still think that is best part of the weekend.
