instrument panel oops

First post here.

I have a 64-1/2 being restored and I removed the instrument panel to install a new lens. I saw plenty of dust so I wiped the panel with some water and the mph numbers flaked off and smeared.
Any rec's?

I saw some white overlays on sleazebay but I am 100% stock and want the look that I had a few hours ago.

Mustangs plus has a new guage for $80. If you decide on the white overlays I recommend the Luminescent ones. I bought the white overlays that were not luminescent in the hopes of the gauges being easier to read at night. I am disappointed with the look.
